Hi people!

Hmm... As usual guess who's here? Ok anyway just a clue, I'm in NS but I'm not in OCS and I'm not in SISPEC. I eat at the canteen, have afternoon naps everyday, go home at 5, only sit in aircon rooms, and am allowed to drive my car into camp =)

Oh yes. And as siak was saying, we need some class outing! Oh shucks, but some people hard to come out lah. Anyway, err... I think every first saturday of the month, there's some performance at the Istana. You guys should go! gogogo... lol.

Ok anyway, just a brief erm... update on what's happening to me...

My job's pretty fun, I get to perform like at almost every occasion, like the Changing of Guards parade and then of course NDP and all. The marching's really fun and everything (Ok I haven't done any of these yet). Erm currently I've been tasked to prepare a piece to play to the director this week... and I "cleverly" chose some grade 8 piece - and I've never chionged the clarinet so much in my life. Ok. I just gave myself away. who cares. ya it's like... 3-4 hours a day. Being a band slacker like me, I've never played more than an hour a day in the past. argh.

So... Let's see what class outings have we had this year. We had our first one on 3rd January, at Swensens, Marina Square. Then the next was Botak Jones on 22 January, during CNY period. There was a looonng break. I think. then it was March 6 A level dinner if you call that an outing.... And... that's all our class outing! zzz!

Haha I actually miss nightcycling a lot. hmm.... Does anyone have suggestions? Siak since u want outing. You organise lah! hhehe

Actually I'm like very free now. So actually I can organise. I don't mind. Does anyone have any ideas? Like oh we can go back and play at Jurong Swimming Complex or smth. I don't know what's there in SG lah. Until my floating ski resort comes up, I guess we've gotta be contented with these few things...

Now it's gonna be awhile before I book in, so this would be one of my attempts to revive this withering blog.

For guys, time in the army passes really slowly and quickly, depending on how you see it. For some girls, time working is sian or maybe interesting, but the pay is thrice or more than mine, so Wow~ haha. It's been exactly a month since enlisting... and I still do miss school life, and surely this class. oh this is getting emo...

Eh eh eh... hmm. we've so far had 2 outings this year. One at swensen's on 3Jan, and one during CNY, at erm... the wherever it is. so cld someone organise another one??? like... ok not so soon. My next 3 wkends are in camp. ZZZ!

ok at least the tagboard is working eventhough no one posted.

OKok... I'd just do smth we all like, since we've all not studied in a long time (at least most of us)... and we need to crack... not crack our brains but crack up in laughter... so...

It's the 60th Post! Anyway. For those viewing it now, it's the right time, because we all need a break from studies. so I guess we should all stay happy. hehe. here're some... jokes.

Hi my fellow essixtyeightians,

This is Day 2 since the voting for Class T began. I have tabulated the results, and have only included the choice votes of everybody. On behalf of people who share the same feelings, I would like to thank all who submited designs for the Class T. I believe that all are nice in their own way; however, because each of us has his/her own taste and preference, it is unfortunate that we would have to narrow the design to only one choice, otherwise a combination of two (which is most likely).

Physics

What is the difference between a physicist, an engineer, and a mathematician? If an engineer walks into a room and sees a fire in the middle and a bucket of water in the corner, he takes the bucket of water and pours it on the fire and puts it out. i would certainly wish to settle the class tee/item ASAP. otherwise when it reaches august, its bye bye alr. so to the bar on the right is a poll for yuwei's design. comment abt it and whatever. pls pass message to all whoever who sees this. we would certainly appreciate constructive feedback and not destructive ones. so help her and help us improve the design asap to get the finalised design for the class tee. its time to get your artistic sense moving. draw/scribble/paint/imagine etc. pls do aft your blocks though (: but start thinking now.

Hi everyone(: sorry for spamming the class blog.. but to those who are involved in our class CIP, thanks for ur enthusiastic participation so far- i think we all enjoyed interacting with the kids right? yupp so our last session tmr alr! hope we are all ready for the challenge of conducting activities for the nursery children and their parents (hope they don't all start crying =S)

Here's the proposed sequence of events, pls read through thoroughly ok? And d'you have any suggestions?

Sports Day 8.30-1pm
8.15am: Meet at Outram Park MRT station
8.30am: Start set-up/ preparations at YWCA

9-10am: Warm-up Activities for children - Music and movement (30 children)
- Simon Says
- Chicken dance medley
- Hokey Pokey
- Freeze
- Interaction in small groups

10-10.15am: Refreshments
10.15-10.30am: Opening speech by Principal, Mrs Rosalind Linus

10.30-12pm: Games for Playgroup and Nursery children and parents (9+16= 25)
10.30- 11.15: Group games (4 people- the others can go set up their station games)

-Ice breaker- Ball game
Description: Everyone will sit in a circle, and the person holding the ball will have to introduce themselves, then roll the ball to someone else, who will then introduce themselves.

- Pass the parcel (1 referee, 1 person to control the music)
- Hula Hoop assing game (1 or 2 referees)
- 3-Legged relay (1 referee, 2 people to tie the legs for the pairs)

11.15-11.45pm: Station games (2 teams)
Station 1: Ball toss (2 people)
Description: The team divides itself into 2 teams, which line up and take turns to throw the ball into the baskets- different baskets giving different points.

Station 2: Bowling (2 people)
Description: The team will divide itself into 2 teams, which will take turns to roll the ball to the bottles, and will win prizes depending on their combined score.

Station 3: Musical Chairs (modified) (2 people)
Description: The chairs will be arranged in a circle (more chairs than people), and each chair will have a paper pasted on it. Everyone will walk around in a circle while music is played, and when the music stops, each person must sit down on a chair. A colour/ number will be chosen and those chairs will be taken out- if someone is sitting on it they will be out too. The last person remaining wins a prize.

9-9.30am: Warm ups- Introduction in small groups
- Simon Says: Stand up, sit down, clap your hands, pat your head, touch your toes, turn around in a circle, jump up and down, go to sleep, wake up, freeze, unfreeze/ start moving, etc;

9.30-10am: Outdoor games
- What time is it Mr Wolf?
- Colour game (when we say a colour, everyone has to run and touch something of that colour)

10-10.15am: Break

10.15-11am: Outdoor games (break into 2-3 groups)
- Relay games- Balancing beanbags on their heads, passing hula hoops, complete a playground course

11-11.45pm: Cool down
- Drawing game (follow instructions to draw an interesting monster/ creature)
- Origami

Hi everyone! Here's the exciting plan for our class CIP session 2 (about 10-12 of us):

Fri, 6 June, 9-12pm
Music and movement/ games with K1, K2 and a few Pri Sch children

9.05-9.50am: Ice-breakers/ warm-ups
-Break into groups, get to know each other, wear nametags
-Warm up songs, freeze game

9.50-10: Break?

10-11: Action songs/ dance
-Chicken dance
-Simple line dance
-Hokey pokey
-etc

11-12: More songs/dance/ games (cooling down)
-blah blah
-pass the parcel (any ideas for forfeits?)
-musical chairs?

12- 12.30 plus: LUNCH (:

Please help to make the session enjoyable for the kids- participate enthusiastically and help them if they are confused ok? And please remember SAFETY FIRST! Hi everyone, finally the long awaited (or rather long delayed=S) class CIP is here! Yay! :) Here is our proposed plan:

1st session (29/5 Thu): 13 of us going, 21 K1, K2 and P2/P3 children (and there'll be 2 teachers around too)

Ice- breakers (9.15-10.15am)
-Introduce names and write name tags for each other
-Assign buddies and divide into groups
-Folding newspaper game
-Blow wind blow
-Etc

Break (10.15-10.30am)

Art & Craft activity (10.30- 12)
Paint and decorate photoframes- you all will be in charge of helping cut out foam/ felt shapes for them to paste, making sure they don't paint other things, helping/ guiding them to glue the things if they can't etc ok? :P

Details of future sessions will be posted soon.

As you have probably realised, there are quite a lot of us so may not have a lot to do but just try to help the kids if needed and make sure they have fun ok? Cos it's holidays so they should have a fun time… and the teachers won't mind if we do whatever we want I THINK…

i was doing some math while i allowed my nose to flow at home while your are having your ever interesting econs lecture/GP lesson in school. this is week 8 of term 2. 18 weeks (10wks term1, march hols 1wk, excl this week) of the year passed. means there is (52-18= 34) weeks left. taking this 34 weeks, minusing the 9weeks of school hols in jun and sep and dec. that is 25wks. taking away the 2days each week to weekends, we have (25x5=125days) left. not counting the public hols, studybreaks before prelims and exam dates, we have effectively this 125days left in this school as a class. and to think that the one and only time mrlow told us how much time we had left was aft term1 last yr where 1/8 of our jc life passed. we have 34/104 of our jc life left. 67.30769% of it has passed (correct to 5d.p.) with this 125 days left, light would have travelled 3.24x10^15m. sound would have blasted 3.704x10^9m away.

ok enuff of these maths, gist of it: we have LITTLE TIME LEFT! and BT2 is coming. its time to add the special engines, extra nitrous, more paddles and charge on! mugging aside, june hols one day for class outing??? andy suggested sentosa which is fine. anymore suggestions?

Let's analyze the beauty of the language in Mr. Ang's phrase, "Yes, you are right; you are not wrong."

In Hebrew literature, such phrasal structure is known as Synonymous Parallelism. It is used to emphasize the meaning of the first line, by repeating itself with different words in the second line.

"you are right" -> means: you are right
"you are not wrong" -> means: you are right (re-emphasize that you are right)

This shows that Mr. Ang agrees with Philip's concern that the Hwa Chong diploma has to capture the holistic development of the student, especially in terms of preparing them for life.

Mr. Ang also used alliteration in the first two words of the phrase "Yes, you..." The repetition of the "y" sounds creates affinity between his affirmation(yes) and Philip (you), further expressing his agreement with Philip.

The repetitive use of the words "you are...", "you are...", indicates that Mr. Ang is speaking specifically to Philip. This is effective in making sure that he is answering the question to the point.

not that im planning it or wad, since planning skills suck, but im passing the planning part to someone else. just initiating one.. whos interested? we can do fun things other than flag day or going to old folk's home. make it our first, only and last class CIP lol.
